FAQ

Why can’t I select my trap in trapview application (in »Devices« list)?

Because your trap haven’t sent any pictures yet. After a successful transmission, the link will be enabled and you will be able to see the detail – the images and charts.

How can I change the GPS coordinates of my trap?

The GPS coordinates are re-set automatically every time the device sends pictures. Probably your trap haven’t sent any pictures yet. After a successful transmission, the coordinates will be set to the new position.

The battery seems not to be charging at all. What could be the reason?

When the solar panel is exposed to the sun, the »CHARGE« light should be on on the device. If not, check the cable – it should be screwed in well on the back side of the device. Assure laso that the solar panel isn’t covered by anything.

Why some pictures looks foggy?

In some weather conditions (mostly in the night or early morning) dew forms on the glass of the device (because of the condensation / high humidity). It is recommended to change or add an additional capture time by day.

The software doesn’t recognize pests at all. Why?

The reasons could be:

  • you don’t have enabled the functionality

  • the quality of the picture is very low (foggy, overexposed, too dark or too bright, etc.)

How much data is sent on average via the SIM card?

From 50 to 60 MB per month at Trapview standard devices and 100-200 MB per month at Trapview+ devices with one picture taken per day.

Why didn’t my trap send the picture today? It was sending pictures regularly before.

Most probably it had low signal or the GSM base station was overloaded. The other reason could also be low battery – if so, check if the battery is charging regularly.

What is the APN?

The APN (Access Point Name) is a gateway between a GPRS mobile network and the public internet. A mobile device (the trap) making a data connection must be configured with an APN to present to the carrier.

Is there a way to install the complete trapview system on our own server?

We understand that some clients need to have data on their servers and this can be done in two ways: * using web services to retrieve data from trapview * setting up whole infrastructure on your servers, however this could lead to substantial extra costs (you need to have appropriate infrastructure, licenses, man-days for remote installation etc.)..

Sensor installation guide

Uninstalling sensor holder

  1. Unscrew three screws which link sensor holder and radiation shield. Remove the radiation shield.

  2. Unscrew a ring on the sensor, which is placed on the opposite side of the radiation shield.

  3. When the ring is unscrewed pull apart sensor cap and sensor cable.

Uninstalling sesor from electronics

  1. Unscrew 4 plastic screws.

  2. Remove electronics from the casing carefully. Watch out for the solar panel wire, since it can be easily dis-connected.

  3. Disconect sensor from the electronics.

  4. Unscrew the cable gland.

  5. Cut the cables just behind the connector. Remove sensor from the casing.
